The Delicious Revolution

After seeing it mentioned on a number of blogs I follow, I recently used some birthday money to purchase this book:

First of all, I would like to say that whoever added, “Notes, Lessons, and Recipes from a Delicious Revolution” below the title must be something of an advertising genius.  Who can resist a delicious revolution?!?  Not me.  I am all for delicious revolutions.

Now, for those of you who read this blog – I often talk about my affinity for cooking while also lamenting my lack of natural ability.  I didn’t grow up in a really “pro-cooking” (is that an actual thing?) household.  We were more of a “pro-going-to-restaurants” household.  Therefore, any sort of cooking ability osmosis that would have happened in my childhood is lacking.  However, I am rather good at picking out orders from a menu.

The Art of Simple Food was made for people like me.  Unlike most of my other cookbooks, this one starts with instructions and explanations of the cooking process/ingredients rather than diving into a bunch of recipes.  Every recipe has bunches of variations and explanations as to why the actual recipe works as a whole.  I think it might help me become a whole new Kristi, cooking high priestess – rather than the old Kristi, blind follower of  recipes with no idea how to substitute or what exactly is going on….I will let you know.

I take full blame for you lack of osmosis.

Is that all I need to become a whole new meme. I really could use some variations also!
